Corrections policy
Last reviewed September 2026
How to report an error
- Tap the feedback control on the brief itself — it attaches your note to that exact story.
- Or email editor@indibatmi.in with the story URL and what is wrong.
- Publishers can flag misquotation, mislabelling, or a licence objection the same way; those jump the queue.
What happens next
Every report is logged. The desk re-checks the flagged claim against the underlying sources within one business day. If the brief is wrong, the summary is corrected, dateModified is updated, and — where the error changed the meaning of the story — a one-line correction note is added to the page. If the brief is right, we say so and why.
What we do not do
- We do not silently delete a story that was wrong. Correcting in place keeps the record honest.
- We do not change the original publication date to make a fix look fresh.
- We do not accept payment to add, remove, or soften coverage. Requests to do so are refused and noted.
Systemic errors
When one mistake reveals a pipeline problem — a source misclassified, a cluster merged wrongly — we fix the class of error, not just the instance, and describe the change on the methodology page if it alters how briefs are produced.
Disagree with a verdict rather than a fact? The claim label on every page states what kind of assertion it is — official claim, allegation, corroborated — and those labels follow the editorial policy, not opinion.
